EIE, the University of Edinburgh’s online tech investor showcase conference, is set to take place on the 6th October. It boasts an incredible cohort of companies pitching for investment, a world class line up of speakers that includes Scotland’s newly appointed Chief Entrepreneur Mark Logan and AI driven networking, taking place in the International Market Square.

Where Innovation Meets Investment

The EIE conference features nearly 40 of the most advanced tech start-up companies from around the world, who have taken part in an intensive, months long investor readiness programme worth more than £14,000.

The programme teaches start-up founders key skills to be able to pitch their businesses and at the EIE Conference you can hear each company as they pitch for investment.

Since 2008 EIE has helped more than 540 companies raise more than $1.5Bn in investment, including one of Scotland’s first unicorn companies FanDuel.

This year’s cohort of companies include: 

  • CyberShell who have developed IP that incorporates cyber resilience at the outset of the software development process.
  • Continulus, helping doctors and nurses access expert knowledge via its video ‘pocketbooks’ technology.
  • Lenz Labs, an IP-driven maintenance startup on a mission to address train delays.

And many more.

 

World Class Speaker Programme

This year's programme includes some of the most exciting speakers from business, government and the entrepreneurial world, including:  

Professor Mark Logan – one of the best known Scottish businesspeople, Mark has recently been named Scotland’s first Chief Entrepreneur and will be delivering a keynote addresses at EIE as one of his first public appearances since the appointment.

Hannah Jones – CEO of the Earthshot Prize. An initiative launched by The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, The Earthshot Prize is the most prestigious environmental prize in history. Hannah will offer her unique perspective on entrepreneurism, innovation and collaboration to affect systems change

Ana Stewart, an entrepreneur with over 30 years’ experience in the start-up space has been tasked by the Scottish Government to chair the government’s “Women in Enterprise” Review.

Sheila Flavell, the highly acclaimed businessperson and President of techUK will be offering her unique and insightful visions.

 

Intelligent Networking at the International Market Square

A key part of EIE, the International Market Square brings together a wide range of businesses and provides an opportunity for networking and discussion. An Ai driven matchmaking system will allow all attendees to be aware of the individuals who are most relevant to them, so that they can have conversations that count.
