They are developing an easy-to-use, online hub to help homeowners: identify energy saving improvements for their home connect with trusted installers access the latest grants and lower cost green finance track progress in improving efficiency With just over 20% of UK CO2 emissions coming from residential homes, Snugg aims to play a big role in helping to decarbonise the country’s housing stock and meet net zero targets. It also has international ambitions to help homeowners around the world access sustainable, energy-efficient solutions for their homes. Snugg has chosen the Bayes Centre as its base because of the access it provides to the Scottish data science and fintech communities. The Snugg platform will rely heavily on accessing multiple data sources and applying advanced data science to provide users with a personalised set of recommendations based simply on their address. Plus, linking to a user’s smart meter will ensure the analysis, recommendations and tracking of their home’s carbon footprint are based on actual data. The Bayes Centre, as Edinburgh Universityʼs innovation hub for Data Science is the perfect place for Snugg to grow its network and access expertise in the field as it develops its digital offering.
