AI UK: The UK’s national showcase of artificial intelligence and data science 22-23 March 22

 

The Alan Turing Institute is delighted to announce that you can now secure your (virtual) seat at AI UK: the Turing’s two-day showcase of the very best of UK academic work in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and data science. The online event will bring together leading thinkers, innovative businesses and public sector bodies, and specialist third sector organisations.

 

AI UK will cover the breadth and depth of the AI ecosystem, showcasing how the latest research and innovations can change the way we work, businesses are run, and top-level decisions are made. There is a conversation, a debate, or a demonstration for everyone involved in the ecosystem.

Four Meaningful Stages

 

  • The Conversation: engage with the big questions in AI through inspiring interviews with UK mayors, thought-provoking debates such as how we should measure progress in AI and even an interactive game show. Not to mention science comedy with a special set streamed live from The Stand, Edinburgh especially for the AI UK audience.

 

  • Public policy: with a focus on responsibility, positivity and hope, this stage will connect leading experts and policy makers, as we discuss the importance of developing ethical foundations for the use of data science and AI in policymaking. Among many exclusive announcements, we are pleased to host the International Centre of Expertise in Montreal for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (CEIMIA), part of the Global Partnership on AI, as they launch the findings from the Data Governance report.

 

  • In the lab: Explore cutting-edge research from universities and institutions around the UK. Featuring a mix of research applications such as the many real-world uses of digital twins,, spotlight presentations from activists, and panels of world-leading academics -visit this stage to discover what’s happening in labs throughout the UK. Students and those new to AI – we’ll be hosting at least two professional development sessions to support your career development in AI.

 

  • Climate action: Listen, learn and be part of the change, as pioneers and experts consider the role of AI and data science in solving the biggest challenge facing society today and share innovative ways, they’re doing this today – did you know a healthy dolphin means a healthy ocean?

 

Government Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance will open the Institute’s flagship event, we will also hear from Professor of AI Neuroscience Aldo Faisal, renowned philanthropist, and entrepreneur Dame Stephanie Shirley.
