About Us

We are a team of recent graduates from the University of Edinburgh, each bringing expertise in fields related to Earth Observation and geospatial technologies. Our academic backgrounds include Earth Observation and Geoinformation Management, Geographical Information Science, and Natural Sciences, giving us a well-rounded perspective on how to address environmental challenges using satellite data. Outside of work, Owen enjoys playing drums and tennis, while Melanka and Haoran find balance by engaging in gaming after a day of strategic meetings.

Problem

Farmers face significant challenges in monitoring key environmental factors that impact crop health and yield. Tracking soil moisture levels, assessing crop health, and detecting early signs of disease are critical for making timely, informed decisions, but these processes are often manual, time-consuming, and prone to error. Current methods rely heavily on physical inspections or outdated data, which can lead to delays in responding to threats such as drought or crop diseases. Furthermore, while satellite data can provide crucial insights, it remains inaccessible to most farmers due to the complexity of accessing and interpreting this information without specialised tools and knowledge.
