United by shared experiences at university, we created an AI tool to revolutionise feedback for lecturers and students. The team has been supported by nine undergraduate interns and is guided by two seasoned EdTech mentors with a combined 20+ years start-up experience. ProblemCriticiseAI helps overburdened university lecturers in the UK, who struggle to provide timely, high-quality feedback due to heavy workloads and teaching strikes. Similar tools exist in the US market, but our AI-powered feedback tool product differentiates by offering a solution specifically designed for the UK educational system, reducing marking time and improving feedback quality and frequency. Thereby filling a gap in the UK while enhancing both lecturer efficiency and student satisfaction. SolutionCriticiseAI is a web based application. Teaching staff can upload assignments and supporting course information to our platform and in less than 15 seconds get several paragraphs of feedback at an academic standard, tailored to the specific student and course. MarketOur primary customers are UK university lecturers who benefit from reduced marking workloads and enhanced feedback quality through our AI-powered tool. We have engaged extensively, including interviews with over two dozen lecturers and feedback from our core network of 7 super-users. Currently focusing on B2C we have over 200 free users and 12 paying customers. We plan to pivot to B2B institutional deals and have already begun procurement conversations with the University of Dundee.
