Aquallite Data Ltd. emerged from a passion for the oceans, a belief in the value of data-driven decisions, and a determination to make a positive contribution to our planet. 4 out the 5 team members worked together during Blue Prism's hyper-growth phase; & Rob continues to lead the exceptional growth of Fishtek Marine Ltd. having joined in its early inception. Collectively, the team has extensive experience founding, growing, and exiting start-ups.

About Us

Aquallite Data Ltd. emerged from the coming together of two passions – the oceans and data – and a determination to make a positive contribution to our planet. We are all very fortunate to derive great joy from our nature in our spare time, and strongly believe in preserving that for future generations. Neil McEwan has been shaped by the experience of growing up in South Africa – spending summer holidays at the best beaches and seas in the world. Gareth has spent many a glorious summer evening on the cricket pitch in quintessential English country-side relishing his beautiful green surroundings. Our advisers, Dave and Rob prefer being on the water, while Neil prefers to career down mountains on two wheels. We value respect, adventure, contribution, and accountability.

Problem

The offshore wind industry is growing at an exceptional rate. However, this has not been without failure. As a result, there has been an exponential increase in insurance claims that could put the financial viability of the industry at risk over the long-run.

A major contributing factor is the accuracy of the 3-dimensions models – assembled from multiple, different datasets; each with millions of data points; and aligned manually – on which critical planning and engineering-design decisions are based. Consequently, there is a wide disparity between the model, and the actual seafloor – causing significant unplanned costs and delays during the installation phase.

Solution 

Aquallite’s subsea data integration software system works alongside Geospatial Analysts to build highly accurate, engineering-grade models using big data analytics – rather than relying solely on human-judgement. Purposefully designed to sit between the processing and visualisation stages of the data lifecycle – Aquallite’s enterprise software solution will enable collaboration across the supply chain; integrate datasets at scale; and assure quality to generate engineer-grade models. Therefore, leveraging compute power to ensure accuracy while enabling Geospatial Analysts to focus their expertise on identifying features critical to decision making.

Market

Aquallite is targeting the Geospatial Analytics Market, starting with the offshore wind industry, before extending into secondary industries including: other renewable energy, blue carbon, defence, and maritime shipping. All ocean industries where collaborative, scalable, engineering-grade data models are required.
