About Us

LotusDx is founded by two PhD students out of a basement at the University of Glasgow. Parisa is a nanotechnology alchemist who spends most of her time brewing business ideas and breakthrough biomaterials. When she isn’t working, she’s either playing the violin or painting the ocean. Ali, on the other hand, is a walking Swiss-army knife with a knack for making things work just by being around them and no concept of a circadian rhythm. If he’s not building prototypes or assembling IKEA furniture at 3 a.m., you’ll find him in a café listening to audiobooks and being snobbish about coffee.

Problem

LotusDx addresses the gap in STI self-testing by providing immediate results, crucial for asymptomatic infections. Without symptoms, many delay testing or rely on overburdened public health services, costly private clinics, or unreliable self-diagnosis, increasing transmission risks. In high-prevalence areas, limited access worsens the problem. There is, therefore, an urgent need to make STI testing easy and accessible for early treatment.

Solution

We believe early disease detection should be effortless, seamlessly fitting into daily life without extra steps. Our solution integrates STI tests into everyday items like swabs and sanitary pads, making testing discreet and intuitive. By reimagining disease detection, we’re making testing seamless and accessible, ensuring serious illnesses are identified precisely when it matters most.

Market

LotusDx serves a diverse range of users, from individuals seeking private self-testing to public health initiatives expanding STI screening. Clinics, pharmacies, and online health providers can seamlessly integrate our test, offering a scalable, cost-effective alternative to traditional diagnostics. As STI rates rise and demand for home testing grows, LotusDx is shaping the future of accessible, reliable STI detection.
