About Us

In 2021, the UK imported 647,000 tonnes of seafood worth £3.7 billion, often from distant sources, worsening global warming and deforestation. In the UK, the seafood sector is worth £9.5 billion annually, with the country remaining a net importer. In 2022, the UK imported 647,000 tonnes of fish worth £3.7 billion and exported 330,000 tonnes worth £1.7 billion. Major exporters of these fish into the UK like China, Norway, and Vietnam contribute to significant carbon emissions from transportation.
