Research Group

The Bayes Centre brings researchers in data science and AI from across the University together with the aim of creating exciting opportunities for fundamental and applied research, connecting them also to our national and international networks.

Are you a researcher working in data science and AI, or in an area that could benefit from closer collaboration with experts in these areas? The Bayes Centre convenes groups and events bringing together academics and students from across the University with a shared interest in these areas, and also connects them to startups, SMEs, and corporate partners we are working with as part of our industry engagement and entrepreneurship activities.

For academic researchers, the main conduit for our research activity is The Alan Turing Institute, our local community of interdisciplinary data science and AI researchers. Our Data Science Consultants work with technically skilled consultants from across the University to provide expertise to scope projects and develop funding bids. Research students also are linked to our activities through the Centres for Doctoral Training in:

  • Biomedical Artificial Intelligence
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Robotics and Autonomous Systems
  • Data Science
  • Pervasive Parallelism

If you are working at other universities, in industry, or the public and third sectors and want to discuss R&D opportunities for collaboration with the University, please contact the Research Team.

Expert Register

You can also register on the Bayes Expert Register if you would like to be contacted with specific opportunities, and, if you are a member of the University, you can join our Teams channel where we post such opportunities.

The purpose of the Bayes Centre Expert Register is to build a community of people with skills in data science, AI, and other related areas so that you can be contacted with relevant opportunities.

Industrial partners wishing to engage with the Bayes community should contact the Bayes Innovation Team.
