The Bayes Centre welcomes new resident: Aquallite Data Ltd.

The Bayes Centre is pleased to extend a warm welcome to new resident Aquallite Data Ltd, a start-up working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, autonomy, and marine data.

The start-up was founded out of a passion for the oceans and a determination to make a positive contribution to our planet. Their ambition is to enable large-scale, continuous mapping of the seabed by structurally reducing the unit cost of subsea geophysical surveying. Aquallite Data started on this adventure by developing a data acquisition software during a live survey at an offshore wind farm; and moving into the Bayes Centre marks the start of a new project to develop their technology for autonomous vessels - surface and underwater - funded by a significant Government grant.

Today, less than 30% of the seabed has only been mapped to modern standards once, while the earth's surface is mapped 5-7 times a day at least. To quote a well known phrase: "We know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the seabed of our oceans". The principal barrier is cost, which is both supply and demand driven. Offshore wind is changing the balance of this equation due to its demand for data acquisition. Driven by its mission and ambition, Aquallite Data Ltd are working to eliminate the bottlenecks in the data acquisition pipeline so that subsea surveying is no longer a barrier to unlocking the full benefits of this industry.

The founding Aquallite Data team worked together at Blue Prism (now SS&C Blue Prism) during its hyper-growth phase as it went from circa £10m to £110m annual revenue in three years. Their core capabilities lie in software, data and intelligence. The two team members that will most often be at the Bayes Centre are Neil McEwan (Founder & CEO) and Florence Dixon (Data Scientist); who will be supported by Gareth Houghton (Co-Founder and CTO) and Torben Sell (Consultant). They are currently looking for a Software Development (Lead).

Aquallite Data Ltd strongly believes that together they can achieve more and so, very much look forward to being part of, and contributing to, the Bayes Centre community!
